One of the best new business pitches I did was for Bacardi.
We had to act out this campaign. Doing Karate moves in the presentation.
We went against the big East Coast agencies. I remember seeing them bring in all their heavy equipment for the pitch.
At one point during the presentation I told the head of Bacardi that I had been an illegal alien, to which he replied “So were we”.
I learned that sometimes not trying to impress people can be the best way.
